Last night’s Race Central Live coverage of the NAPA 150 from Ohio's Columbus Motor Speedway was excellent (as is the norm). There was plenty of action on the track to relay.
NASCAR Race Mom was cheering for Dominique Van Wieringen. Unfortunately, she spun on lap ninty-four in a single car incident. (NRM still believes she will win this season!) Then late race leader Kyle Benjamin cut down a right front tire with just fifteen laps remaining. Benjamin had cleared Haley for the lead in lap 109.
The last restart flag flew with just eight laps remaining. Justin Haley cleared Austin Theriault off turn two as Todd Gilliland and Noah Gragson fought for fourth in turn three.
Justin Haley hung on to collect his second K&N Pro Series East win of the season. Haley also remains in the Championship Points lead.
The NAPA 150 from Columbus Motor Speedway will air on NBCSN Friday, June 8 at 12:30 p.m. ET.
The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will be back in action at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 16.
NRM was kind of melancholy – it is reported that Columbus Motor Speedway will be closing after the season . . . I have never had the opportunity to attend a race there.
